Purpose of MOTEC
Promote provision of quality clinical and doctoral capstone education for occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant students through activities, resources, and collaborations supported by MOTEC funds.
Encourage collaborative relationships among educational programs, doctoral capstone coordinators, and clinical education sites—funds may be used to facilitate meetings, trainings, and initiatives that advance these relationships.
Promote activities to increase the quantity and quality of fieldwork and doctoral capstone education sites and experiences, including workshops, training sessions, and site development efforts supported by MOTEC funds.
Foster a spirit of support and mentorship among academic fieldwork coordinators, doctoral capstone coordinators, and fieldwork educators in the field—MOTEC funds shall prioritize professional development opportunities that strengthen these connections.
Provide a forum for collaborative problem solving and innovation related to fieldwork and doctoral capstone education in occupational therapy, including the use of funds to support networking, events, and resource creation.
Ensure that clinical and capstone education for occupational therapy students reflects current and emerging practice trends through activities and initiatives financially supported by MOTEC.
Support the ongoing education and professional development of fieldwork educators and site mentors, with MOTEC funds specifically allocated to training programs, recognition initiatives, and dissemination of best practices.
